International webinar on infrastructure megaprojects will be host by SAI Brazil on June 19th, 2023
To encourage the development of infrastructure megaprojects in Brazil that are in line with environmental preservation initiatives, the Federal Court of Accounts (TCU – Brazil) concluded in 2022 the first phase of the Feasibility in Focus program in partnership with the German Cooperation Agency - GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), under the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The program’s goal is to promote the development of adequate and standardized auditing and follow-up tools aim at preventing issues that have historically plagued large public works in Brazil, such as cost overruns, delays in the delivery of projects, and environmental impacts.
As part of the second phase of the program, an international webinar will be held next Monday, June 19th (3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. - Brasilia time) with the topic "Feasibility in Focus 2: Tools for evaluating Infrastructure Megaprojects", where participants will be able to learn about the best international practices for the evaluation of infrastructure megaprojects and watch the keynote speech by Professor Alex Budzier of Oxford University, one of the world's leading experts in megaproject evaluation. The event also marks the release of the "Practical Report on the Reference Class Forecasting (RCF) methodology for Transport Infrastructure Projects in Brazil", specifically prepared for the Brazilian scenario.

The implementation of the program is carried out by the TCU within the Working Group on Policy Auditing and Infrastructure Regulation (GTInfra) of the Latin American and Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (OLACEFS), with the support of GIZ.
