At the beginning of the new term of the Iranian Parliament on 24 July 2024, Dr. Seyed Ahmadreza Dastgheib, the incumbent President of SAC and the ECOSAI President, won 211 votes out of 272 votes cast by the Members of the Iranian Parliament and accordingly was re-elected as the President of SAC for a four-year term 2024 – 2028.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Dastgheib holds a Postdoc in Economic Law and a Ph.D. in Political Science and he has had important responsibilities in the Parliament, including Member of the Presidium of the Parliament, Advisor to the Speakers of the Parliament, Deputy Chairman of the Integration Commission of the Parliament, Deputy Chairman of Internal Regulation Commission of the Parliament and Member of the Article 90 of the Constitution Commission.
