As chair of INTOSAI for six months, President Bruno Dantas met with the INTOSAI Secretary General

The main topics of the meeting were the priorities of SAI Brazil as chair of INTOSAI until 2025

The president of the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU), minister Bruno Dantas, and chair of the International Organization of the Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), met with INTOSAI Secretary General, Dr. Margit Kraker last May 2nd, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat, Vienna, Austria.

On that occasion, they went through the first six months of SAI Brazil as chair of INTOSAI. The leaders discussed the country's priorities during the mandate and the work in cooperation with the General Secretariat.

They also discussed details about the next meeting of the Supervisory Committee on Emerging Issues (SCEI), the cooperation between INTOSAI and the United Nations (UN), the progress of the Communication Task Force and the preparations for the next meeting of the Policy, Finance, and Administration Committee (PFAC), which will take place in November 2023.

Brazil’s performance as chair of INTOSAI

As chair of INTOSAI, the Brazilian Court of Accounts is working on strengthening supreme audit institutions around the world. With this in mind, the institution is working to further enhance communication of values, results, and impacts of the work of its members, in addition to increasing the communication with international organizations, academia, and society.

Brazil also seeks to encourage the adoption of administrative sustainability policies in public institutions; promote equity, inclusion, and diversity; and keep oversight institutions alert to emerging global challenges

ClimateScanner

Energy and environmental sustainability are other priorities of the Brazilian presidency at INTOSAI. In that respect, President Bruno Dantas updated the Secretary General on the ClimateScanner initiative.

The main goal of the project is to develop a methodology to allow SAIs and governments a tool to quickly assess government actions related to climate change. Consolidation of these assessments will also enable a broad view of actions to fight global warming. The initiative is coordinated by SAI Brazil as chair of INTOSAI in partnership with the INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA).
